With SA Fashion Week around the corner, A-list celebrities and top local fashion designers are expected to participate in the annual Night of the Stars runway show hosted by the HospiceWits. Under the direction of events producer Jan Malan, the show will bring fashion and charity together for a night to remember.

Night with the Stars has become a hallmark of the South African social calendar with more than 100 celebrities, musicians and designers collaborating for a good cause. South Africa’s famous people perform and walk the runway for HospiceWits showcasing top SA Fashion Designers.

The runway will showcase creations from top South African designers such as Clive Rundle, Black Coffee, Gert-Johan Coetzee, and MaXhosa by Laduma. Retailers like Cotton On, Forever 21, Calvin Klein, and Convers will lend their support to the event.

Wella Professionals will be the hair sponsor for the evening and hairstyles for celebrities and models will be keyed by Anita Baatjies, owner and stylist at Hair at the Hub. Top stylists from as far afield as Bloemfontein have volunteered their time and skills to ensure that Night with the Stars is filled with show-stopping hairstyles both on and off stage.

About HospiceWits

This non-profit organisation provides care, comfort and support to patients and families affected by life-threatening illness such as cancer, HIV/Aids and organ failure.

The Hospice Association of the Witwatersrand was started in September 1979 as a response to a need in their community for Hospice care. Initially, care was provided by a part-time nurse from their house.

Today, they have more than 150 full-time staff, including doctors, nurses, social workers, psychologists and spiritual counsellors. As a non-profit organisation (NPO), they must raise their own funds. They do this through the HospiceWits Shops, where a variety of donated goods are sold, through fundraising from donations from corporates and individuals, and through hosting several events throughout the year.
